"Chillstep!" Swan entered the nursery and gasped, seeing the deputy covered in kittens. Chillstep turned her head to the apprentice, glaring.
"Swan." She said desperately frustrated. "Help me."
"Kits, please!" the short tailed she-cat rushed in, scooping Ospreykit off of Chillstep's haunches and pulling Scalekit from her place snuggled under her tail, "Why don't you go play outside? Chillstep needs her space right now."
"Okay, sis!" Duck purred, bounding past her to find Crookedkit. The other kits left as well, Cranekit and Floodkit scolding their increasingly belligerent brother.
"Are you okay, Deputy Chillstep?"
Chillstep shook her head and took a deep breath. "I still have no idea how those mouse-brains convinced me to make a nest in the nursery."
"Well if you go into kitting in the middle of the night, you can't be in the warrior's den!"
"Oh. Right." The deputy shook her head again. "I just wanted to take a nap was all..." She'd been so tired ever since she'd started to be noticeably pregnant and she never had any time to herself. Why couldn't cats leave her alone?!
"I'll keep the kits off your back while you sleep. Literally."
Chillstep chuckled and sighed, "Thank you Swan." She touched noses with her friend and then curled up to sleep. Finally some peace and quiet.

Thought I'd do some fluff of Chills bein' preggers before she has her kits next month. I picture she would just hate everyone in the nursery, except perhaps Pebblekit, who idolizes her. Still, she's pregnant and she was short tempered before. She has literally no patience now.
